A Nigerian businesswoman has exposed her sales rep for allegedly stealing clothes from her store, removing the tags, and reselling them.
She reportedly recovered ₦601,000 in cash and found several bags and clothing items in the woman's possession after leading police to her house for a search.
The incident was shared in a video posted on TikTok, where the businesswoman detailed how the theft unfolded.
Each scene in the video is captioned, showing the alleged sales rep opening her bag and revealing multiple items suspected to have been stolen from the store.
In her narration, the businesswoman expressed shock and betrayal, explaining that she had trusted the woman because of her religious devotion.
"Beware of overly religious people. She's been working with me for over a year. I trusted her because she's a Muslim and always praying," she wrote.
She added that although she was once suspicious, she initially ignored it. "There's a saying that there's no how someone wouldn't eat from your success. I left her," she explained.
The woman claimed the sales rep not only sold the clothes but also wore some of them. "She removed all the tags from my clothes and sold them. The only thing I was able to recover was ₦601k."
"I noticed I was constantly restocking but not seeing the money. I never knew she was secretly ripping me off."
Following her suspicions, she involved the police. "We went to her house with the police and recovered a lot of clothes and bags, aside from the ones she had sold and removed the tags from."
She concluded by warning others against trusting people solely based on their religious appearance.
