Report: £60-Million Rated Attacker Ready to Turn Down Newcastle United for a Move to Man United

Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to secure Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise this summer ahead of Newcastle United, according to Football Transfers.

The Red Devils are keen to bolster their attacking options after a disappointing Premier League season that saw them finish eighth with just 60 points.

The need for a new marquee winger is evident, and Olise has emerged as a prime target.

Football Transfers reports that Olise is high on Manchester United's list of potential signings.

While Newcastle also admires the French winger, Olise, who grew up as a United fan, is said to prefer a move to Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old has a release clause in his contract with Palace, set at £60 million.

Despite a season marred by injuries, Olise's impact at Crystal Palace was significant.

He suffered a hamstring injury during pre-season and endured similar issues throughout the year, missing over half of Palace's games.

Nonetheless, in his 19 league appearances, Olise managed to score 10 goals and provide 6 assists.

His performance also included winning an average of 5.7 duels per game and completing over 2 take-ons per match.

Olise's potential move to United is seen as a considerable upgrade. United's current options for the right-wing position, such as Antony and Jadon Sancho, who is currently on loan, have failed to deliver as expected.

Although Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo have been tested in this role by manager Erik ten Hag, Olise's experience-over 160 career appearances-makes him a standout candidate.

Given his track record, Olise's recent injuries are not seen as a long-term concern. Manchester United are likely to make a determined effort to bring him to the club in the coming weeks.

This potential transfer could see Sancho departing, especially after his successful loan spell with Borussia Dortmund, allowing United to offset the cost of acquiring Olise.
