Esteemed football transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has disclosed that Napoli's forward, Victor Osimhen, is likely to make a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea in the Premier League during the forthcoming summer transfer period. This development comes despite significant interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Nigerian forward recently committed his future to Napoli by signing a contract extension valid until 2026, which includes a buyout clause valued at 130 million euros.
Paris Saint-Germain considers Osimhen as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who appears to be on the verge of leaving the club.
Osimhen has prior experience in Ligue 1 with his stint at Lille, where he played 27 games and scored 13 goals during the 2019-2020 season. Nevertheless, Di Marzio indicates that Osimhen's inclination is towards a move to either Chelsea or Arsenal, as opposed to a return to the French league.
Despite PSG's leading position in the race, due to their established connection with Napoli, Osimhen's attention is fixed on a prospective transfer to the Premier League, where he is eager to demonstrate his abilities on a new platform.
"I'm not so convinced that Osimhen goes to PSG, he has already played in France with Lille, logical, PSG is something else and would allow you to face matches like the Champions League semi-final, but his preference was and remains England," Di Marzio said in quotes relayed by Spazio Napoli.
"Chelsea and Arsenal are two clubs that could grab Osimhen."
