Bible Verses That Crush the Enemy

Crush the enemy and all his empty promises with these powerful Bible verses.

Bible Verses That Crush the Enemy

When it comes to the Enemy, also known as Satan, and the Devil among other names, the Bible tells us, "The great dragon was hurled down - the ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." Given this, we know that the enemy is a deceiver and much of the world doesn't even know he exists. The enemy is such a trickster that he has blinded many in this world, particularly those who are lost so that they cannot hear God, or the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. But just because the Enemy attempts to blind the world, we have the power to remove ourselves from this blindness, and ward off his attacks. We are told in the Gospel of Mark:

"Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (which means "son of Timaeus"), was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!" Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!" Jesus stopped and said, "Call him." So they called to the blind man, "Cheer up! On your feet! He's calling you." Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus. "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see." "Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

From this passage, we learn that we too can have our sight restored - our restored sight in God, comes through faith. Faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ will heal us from our own blindness and allows us to see God more fully. But we can't do this if we are distracted by the enemy and his empty promises.

As Christians, it's important that we are mindful of the enemy's presence and his attacks, so that we are not weakened by his false promises, and led to sin. If we want to protect ourselves from the enemy, we must first turn to God. Only He can protect us from Satan, and our will against Him. Here are seven Bible verses that will crush the enemy. There is nothing that the enemy hates more than when we turn to God, and praise His name, even in the worst of circumstances. Reflect on these verses silently or out loud to protect yourself from the enemy's advances. The more we read the Bible, the more we are aware of his advances and can discern the truth.
