EPL: Four matches we could see shock results this midweek

After the international break, the Premier League threw up some interesting results over the weekend.

Again, we had changes at the top of the table, as Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City go head-to-head in the most thrilling title race ever.

This midweek, there will be more intriguing fixtures to look forward to, ahead the campaign enters the business end.

So what games can we expect shock results?

1. West Ham vs Tottenham: Last weekend against relegation-threatened Luton Town, Tottenham barely got the three points. A mixture of luck and poor finishing ensured they stayed close to Aston Villa in the race to finish in Champions League places. However, they will face West Ham next. David Moyes' men threw away a 3-1 lead at Newcastle at 4-3 and will be looking to bounce back in front of their fans.

2. Arsenal vs Luton: In the reverse fixture, Arsenal needed a last-gasp Declan Rice winner to see off Luton Town. And although Mikel Arteta's men were impressive in the 0-0 draw with Manchester City, you wonder just how much that took from them, especially after the international break. Rob Edwards' side are regularly involved in thrilling games and this might be one of such.

3. Man City vs Aston Villa: Pep Guardiola's men don't look quite the same this season. Although they faced a resilient Arsenal last weekend, City did not really produce enough on the day to trouble the Gunners. The next visitors to the Etihad will be Villa, who are just behind them in fourth place and looking to finish in the top four. Don't forget Unai Emery's men won 1-0 at Villa Park.

4. Liverpool vs Sheffield Utd: These types of games could end up being banana skin for Liverpool. The way Sheffield played against Fulham on Saturday and went 3-1 showed that there's something about them. Chris Wilder's men are fighting for their topflight status and have nothing to lose. So the Reds will do well to beware of that, or they could face surprise even at Anfield.
