The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has given information regarding the apprehension of Samaila Wakili Fafa, the person accountable for the death of Ned Nwoko's legal assistant in a Nasarawa forest. He disclosed how Fafa was captured while concealed in the forest, signifying a significant advancement in addressing kidnapping and armed robbery incidents. He mentioned that the detention of both Dahiru and Fafa, along with several of their main collaborators, led to a noticeable reduction in criminal acts in the FCT.
He expressed disappointment over the insufficient equipment and resources accessible to security agencies, specifically the police and the Department of State Security Services (DSS) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He disclosed that neither the police command nor the FCT DSS command had essential tracking devices, with the only one accessible being located at the headquarters.
He said in a media chat with TVC, ''We arrested Fafa who was behind the killing of the legal aide of Ned Nwoko in a forest in Nasarawa. He was hiding in there in the forest and if you see what happened. First of all, we got Dahiru before and then got Fafa. And these are the major sponsors of Kidnapping and other forms of armed robbery. The moment we took two of them and some of their kingpins, that is how you see that the whole thing came down.
It's unfortunate to say this but most security agencies, in particular, the police here are not adequately equipped. In fact, you can't believe it that the police command in the FCT does not even have an ordinary tracking device. Not only them, but even the FCT command of the Department of State Security Services doesn't have the tracking device as well. And the only one that they have is at the headquarters. So if there are things to do, they have to go to the headquarters, which is not supposed to be so.''
