Bandits have reportedly killed one person and abducted 16 others during an attack on Tsohon Dungunu, a village in Munya LGA of Niger state.

Speaking with TheCable on Monday, Aminu Najume, chairman of Munya LGA, said the attack occurred at about 2 am on Saturday.

Najume said the bandits stormed the residence of one Alhaji Adamu, murdered him and abducted some of his family members.

Nollywood actor Ken Eric recently paid a visit to his veteran colleague, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, who seemed to have returned home after months in hospital.

DAILY POST recalls that one of Mr Ibu's legs was amputated after being diagnosed with diseased blood vessels.

His family had solicited funds from Nigerians, saying the actor "had constant clotting of the blood in his leg [diseased blood vessels] and other health challenges posing risk to his life, therefore the need for the amputation.

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organiation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, has thrown its weight behind President Bola Tinubu's action to suspend the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr Betta Edu, over alleged N585 million fraud.

Ohanaeze also berated the Acting National Youth Leader of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mr. Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu for asking Tinubu, to give Edu another chance by reinstating her to her office.

Okpalaezeukwu has said in a press release that the allegations against the embattled minister should be overlooked by President Tinubu, saying, "administrative infelicity and not a financial heist since the Accountant General had confirmed that she did not honour the payment."

As the battle over who occupies the revered Mburubu traditional stool continues to rage, the national leadership of Concerned Youths of Nkanu East has warned the Enugu State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Prince Lawrence Ezeh to face his works in the ministry.

There has been a crisis over who occupies the vacant traditional stool of Mburubu kingdom, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.

DAILY POST learnt that two groups are currently laying claims to the throne.
