AFCON 2023: 'Bad blow for Nigeria' - Oliseh expresses concern over Super Eagles striker

Former Nigeria international Sunday Oliseh has expressed concern over Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface.

Oliseh said it would be a 'bad blow for Nigeria' should Boniface miss the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will commence this weekend.

He stated this in a post via his X account on Monday while reacting to the exclusion of Boniface from the Super Eagles squad that lost 2-0 against Guinea in a friendly tie.

Torizone recalls that Boniface had picked up an injury in training before the Guinea clash.

The Super Eagles were beaten 2-0 by the Syli Stars of Guinea in their final friendly ahead of the 2023 AFCON.

The match was played behind closed doors at the Banis Yas Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

"I have watched Boniface closely all season, and he is simply an extraordinary player! Him missing AFCON will be a bad blow for us," Oliseh wrote.

"We need to have him fit at all costs, as he is, in my opinion, definitely one of Naija's best hopes!"
