I went to a party in Lagos, if there were 300 people there 270 wanted to snap picture with me -Wike

Nyesom Wike, a former governor and the Minister of FCT, has stated that he initially thought people disliked him but he later realized that many individuals were eager to take pictures with him.

In a video shared on YouTube by Channels TV, Wike said he attended a party in Lagos which was hosted by a Chief of Staff, and if there were 300 people in the party, 270 of them wanted to take pictures with him. He said even the Chief of Staff was surprised by the way the crowd made him (Wike) the center of attention. He also said that he attended another part hosted by the Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue and again, a significant number of attendees wanted photos with him. He said a similar thing occurred when he traveled to London.

In Wike's words: "I used to think people hate me but when I went to a party in Lagos, if there were 300 people there 270 wanted to snap pictures with me. The party was hosted by the Chief Of Staff. So I was now asking those I went with what was going on. If it was in those days when I was in the world, a lot of things would have happened there. And the Chief of Staff told me 'Are you the one doing the party, why is everybody coming to you?' I said I don't know. The next day I went to another party by the chairman of Federal Inland Revenue and everybody wanted to snap with me. Then we went to London, immediately I got to terminal 5 Heathrow, everybody [wanted to snap with]. I now realize it is good to be good and make an impact in the lives of people. Forget about these noisemakers on the road, when the time comes we will know who is in charge".
