FG N35k bonus: "You never see pounded Yam for plate, you come dey ask for more soup" - Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, a former congressman, has provided his response to the thirty-five thousand naira (N35k) that the federal government of Nigeria has promised to give to federal employees as a salary bonus. In a series of posts, he stated that those individuals who had been waiting for the notification of the N35,000 bonus have now given up and are now pleading for their pay for the month of December.

Recall that the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that it will be providing federal employees with a bonus salary of N35,000 in the near future. It was approved by President Bola Tinubu that all employees of the Federal Government who are paid by the Treasury will get a provisional wage award of N35,000 for a period of six months.

However, workers have reportedly asserted that the federal government has only paid for one of the six months that they had been promised. This information was reported by the Daily Post.

Reacting to this, Senator Shehu Sani via his X handle, he said in pidgin language, "You never see pounded Yam for plate, you come dey ask for more soup"
