Mr Ibu's family break silence on second leg amputation

The family of sick actor John Okafor, aka Mr Ibu, has clarified that the thespian did not have both legs amputated.

Torizone recounts that the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Dr Emeka Rollas, said in a recent interview with newsmen that Mr Ibu had another limb amputation and is barely able to speak.

In a Saturday Instagram post, the actor's family confirmed that the second amputation was performed on the same limb that had previously been removed since "the first amputation didn't completely correct his health predicament."

The family also clarified that Mr Ibu is not diabetic but "had constant clotting of the blood in his leg [diseased blood vessels] and other health challenges posing risk to his life, therefore the need for the amputation."

The family explained that the actor hasn't been flown abroad for advanced treatment because doctors have tagged him "Not fit to fly."

The family, however, said the legendary comic star was recuperating, urging his "friends, colleagues, fans and Nigerians at large to keep him in their prayers and peddle down on unconfirmed reports concerning our dad's health."
