Villas-Boas celebrate victory: Former Chelsea boss named president of Porto

Former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has clinched the presidency of Porto in a stunning landslide election victory.

The 46-year-old, who hasn't managed a club since his tenure with Marseille in February 2021, secured a triumphant return to his former club, Porto, after claiming a resounding 80.3 per cent of the vote.

This victory unseated the incumbent, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, who had held the position for an impressive 42 years.

Villas-Boas, the youngest manager to win a European trophy at just 33, led Porto to victory in the Europa League in 2011, along with a domestic Treble.

Despite subsequent managerial stints at Chelsea, Tottenham, Zenit Saint Petersburg, Shanghai SIPG, and Marseille, Villas-Boas has now returned to his roots at Porto.
