Everton are facing a 12-point deduction after the Premier League recommended a 12-point deduction for allegedly breaching Financial Fair Play (FFP).

Everton facing historic points-deduction
According to The Telegraph, English football's governing body is recommending a points deduction of up to 12 points to set a strong example for others of the dangers associated with breaching FFP.
The maximum punishment Everton can receive if found guilty is a 12-point deduction. Based on the current table, they would be ranked at the bottom with -5 points. A punishment of this nature could have resulted in their relegation in each of the last two seasons.
An independent commission is currently reviewing Everton's case.
The final decision will be made by them, not by the Premier League. Everton are thought to have recorded financial losses of £371.8million, which is £266.8m over budget.
