Micah Richards made to look foolish by Dominik Szoboszlai as Liverpool comments resurface

Micah Richards has been made to look foolish by Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai as his past comments resurface.

During the summer transfer window, Liverpool brought in Hungarian midfielder Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig after triggering the £60 million release clause in his contract.

Since his arrival, Szoboszlai has already made a good impression on the Anfield faithful.

So far, his energy and creativity in the Liverpool midfield have since him being compared with Reds legend Steven Gerrard.

As a result of Szoboszlai's flying start to his Liverpool career, Richards has been made to look foolish.

Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast ahead of the 23/24 season, Richards told Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer about the concern he had over Szoboszlai.

The former Manchester City defender said: "Szoboszlai is a good player, I just don't know if he can deal with the pace of the league. I think he's going to be a slow burner."

On Wednesday night, Szoboszlai scored a stunning goal as Liverpool recorded a 3-1 win over Championship side Leicester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

After the match, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: "Dom was a surprise with how fast he has fit in. It was pretty much from the first minute. Top-class player with a lot of quality. He never stops. He learns a lot from the game."

Speaking about his goal, Szoboszlai said: "It was very special. I don't know if it was the best goal, I scored one of my best in the national team and also in Salzburg. But [it was] one of the best for sure."

Liverpool are back in Premier League action this weekend as they travel to London for a mouth-watering clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.
