Manchester City's Club World Cup opponents revealed

UEFA Champions League winners Manchester City will enter the Club World Cup at the semifinals stage, against one of two other continental champions.

Manchester City's quest to win a fifth trophy in 2023 will see them play in the FIFA Club World Cup, with the European champions now set to face one of two fellow continental conquerors in their first match of the tournament.

The Cityzens will enter the Club World Cup at the semifinal stage after qualifying as UEFA Champions League winners and will play either CONCACAF champions Club Leon, or AFC Champions League holders Urawa Red Diamonds.

The other continental champions will play in the third match of the competition in the tournament's second round, with the winner expected to provide ample competition for Manchester City in the second semifinal.

Manchester City will be looking to win their first-ever Club World Cup trophy after conquering Europe for the first time this season and could win an incredible five titles this calendar year.

Other Club World Cup fixtures

In other fixtures, Al Ittihad, sporting the likes of Karim Benzema, who won the trophy with Real Madrid last season will play against Auckland City in the first match of the tournament.

The Saudi Arabians qualified as the champions of the host country having won the Saudi Pro League in the 2022/23 season and will face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the second round if they get beyond Auckland City.

The winner of that game will play against the yet-unnamed champions of the Copa Libertadores in the semifinals, teeing up a potentially exciting encounter.

The tournament kicks off on the December 12, with the final set to be played on December 22nd.
