EPL: What a Hypocrite - Bruno Fernandes slammed over comment against referee

Football pundit, Richard Keys has slammed Manchester United captain, Bruno Fernandes, describing the Portuguese as a hypocrite.

Manchester United began their season with a 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers before falling to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Wolves were denied a penalty in the dying minutes at Manchester United after goalkeeper Andre Onana fouled Sasa Kalajdzic in the box.

The referee and the VAR missed the incident and the Professional Game Match Officials Limited boss, Jon Moss later apologized to the Wanderers.

After that game, Fernandes was asked how he felt about Wolves being denied a spot kick and he told NBC Sports, "It's the way the referee sees it."

Fast forward to Saturday when the Red Devils played against Tottenham in their second game of the season.

Manchester United believe they should have been awarded a penalty after a shot from Alejandro Garnacho struck Cristian Romero on the hand in the penalty area in the first half.

Fernandes expressed his frustration after the game and called on the PGMOL boss, Moss, to apologize to Manchester United as he did to Wolves.

However, Keys believes Fernandes has acted like a hypocrite for making such a demand.

The BeIN Sports pundit wrote in his personal blog,

"As for the captain complaining that they [United] should've had a pen? Agreed It was nailed on a pen. Handball. No arguments. But so Wolves should've had on Monday when Fernandes said 'it's the way the referee sees it'. What a hypocrite.

"Oh. And Spurs should've had a pen when [Lisandro] Martinez cleaned Romero out. He got nowhere near the ball."
