Tinubu appoints Coker-Odusote as NIMC Acting DG

President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Engr. Bisoye Coker-Odusote to serve as the National Identity Management Commission's (NIMC) acting director-general and CEO for a 90-day period. On November 24, 2023, she will start her substantive four-year term as NIMC's director-general and CEO.

According to channels news, Coker-Odusote will succeed Engr. Aliyu Abubakar Aziz, the current director general of the NIMC, who has been ordered by the president to begin a 90-day pre-retirement leave with effect from August 24, 2023, and who will eventually retire from service on November 24, 2023.

Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub was also appointed by President Tinubu as the Director/CEO of the Directorate of Technical Aid Corps (DTAC). It has once again vindicated me on this issue while also upholding my role as an elected representative of the people, in this case, the Bende federal constituency of Abia State. "I am grateful," Kalu said.

The National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, which met in Umuahia, Abia State on Tuesday, affirmed the election victory of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu. In its verdict, the tribunal's three-man panel denied the case filed by the Labour Party's (LP) candidate, Frank Chinasa, seeking to overturn Kalu's election victory.

The panel's three judges dismissed Chinasa's plea for lack of merit in a unanimous decision read by the tribunal's chairman, Justice Samson Gang.
