EPL: We never held talks with Man Utd over Mason Greenwood's return - Adidas

Adidas has denied holding any talks with Manchester United regarding Mason Greenwood's situation.

The football wear makers said they are not in the position to enter such discussions or make decisions about players or staff of a club.

For this reason, Adidas insisted they have not held any discussions with United regarding the future of Greenwood.

Greenwood was charged with rape and other related offences in January 2022 and has not played for United since then.

Despite the charges being dropped in February 2023, he has remained under suspension by United.

The Sun reported on Friday that United have held talks with Adidas to discuss the possibility of bringing Greenwood back.

The talks between the two parties were said to have come out as 'positive' by the newspaper.

Adidas, United's shirt sponsor, has denied any such talks took place.

As quoted by Metro, an Adidas spokesperson said,

"After inaccurate and speculative reporting within the media, it's important for us to clarify that Adidas has had no discussions with Manchester United regarding any member of their playing squad.

"We play no role in any decisions made regarding any member of the team or staff at the club.'
