Ballon d'Or: He's Messi's replacement - LaLiga president, Tebas names player to win award

La Liga president, Javier Tebas, has backed Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior to win the Ballon d'Or in the near future.

Tebas stated this while addressing the racism issues surrounding Vinicius during Real Madrid's clash against Valencia last weekend.

Speaking in a press conference, Tebas also insisted that Vinicius could be Barcelona legend Lionel Messi's replacement as the best player in La Liga.

Tebas said (via MARCA):

"Vinicius is going to win the Ballon d'Or in the future. He is a very important asset for Real Madrid and his team.

"As an introduction, I want my personal relationship with Vinicius to be known. When he joined the first team, they asked me who was the player who could replace [Lionel] Messi and I said it was Vinicius. This was quite some time ago."
