Chelsea boss Graham Potter has been boosted ahead of a congested schedule by the return of N'Golo Kante to first-team training.

The Frenchman has missed the club's last six fixtures with a hamstring injury and he's yet to feature under Potter.

Kante started the first two matches of the season against Everton and Tottenham but he was forced off in a 2-2 draw against Antonio Conte's side in August.

The injury has kept the midfielder on the sidelines for six weeks but he was able to participate in a training session today, which included those not picked for international duty.

The Blues face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday and though Kante is unlikely to be risked, he could take a place on the bench as he recovers from his lay-off.

Chelsea have nine matches to play across October, with a game every three days.

Central midfield is an area that Potter wants to strengthen and there's doubts over Kante's future at the club.
