Transfer: Casemiro sends message to Cristiano Ronaldo

Manchester United-bound midfielder Casemiro has sent a message to Cristiano Ronaldo, urging his former Real Madrid teammates to stay at Manchester.

The Brazil international said he is eager to end the Red Devils' Premier League trophy drought.

The 30-year-old midfielder said this in a press conference at Real Madrid's training complex on Monday morning as he is set to fly to Manchester to complete his transfer.

Ronaldo is believed to have asked to leave the club and significant doubts remain over his future.

Casemiro, though, is hoping his old team-mate elects to remain at United and is looking forward to getting reacquainted with the five-time Ballon d'Or winner.

"I haven't talked to Cristiano Ronaldo, but I want to play with him," said the midfielder.

"I'm very excited to work with him. Hopefully, he stays. He's one of the best in the world."
