The 27-year-old has spent the last four seasons with the Catalan giants, making 158 appearances and scoring seven goals in the process.

A centre-back by trade, Lenglet will fill a crucial role in Antonio Conte's side as he competes for a spot on the left side of Spurs' three central defenders.

Speaking to the club's website, Lenglet said: "I'm very happy to be here, to be in this city, in this club.

"I speak with friends, my family too, I'm very excited to start the season with my new teammates, my new stadium, new city.

"For me all of this is new but I'm hungry, I want to play, I want to be the best soccer player to help the team to help the team to win trophies, to fight.

"I want to be a good teammate, to be a defender who can be aggressive, who can help the group win the ball.

"Hugo [Lloris] is a legend of Tottenham and I speak a lot with Hugo to know the City, to know how to be good in the city, he's a beautiful example for me.

"It's a dream and I would like to win a trophy here in Tottenham."

Lenglet becomes Tottenham's fifth signing of the summer following deals for Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Ivan Perisic and Richarlison who joined the club for a £60million fee from Everton.
