Champions League: Mbappe tells Pochettino best position to play Messi at PSG

Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, has told the club's manager, Mauricio Pochettino, the best position to play teammate Lionel Messi ahead of their Champions League round of 16 first-leg tie with Real Madrid on Tuesday night.

Messi has tried different positions at PSG since joining the club from Barcelona last summer.

But Mbappe has now suggested to Pochettino that the Argentina captain should be playing in a free role, especially through the middle.

When asked if Messi is better playing through the middle, Mbappe told Amazon Prime Video: "Yes, but I'm not the coach.

"Leo is a player who needs to be on the ball, to feel the game and the movement, to be involved.

"I think it's a good position for him, to play in a free role, to be able to move and play off the shoulders of defenders.

"I can play in any position. I started in the middle, then I played on the right and now on the left, but I still have a certain amount of freedom in my movement."
