Zidane sends important message to Real Madrid star being linked with Man United, Liverpool

Zinedine Zidane has told Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos he wants him to remain at the Santiago Bernabeu, reports in Spain claim.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu after spending 14 years at the club, following a meeting with President Florentino Perez recently.

It is understood that the center-back clashed with Perez following Madrid's ouster in the Champions League by Ajax.

And reports are already suggesting that Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool have shown interest in the Spanish captain.

But Spanish outlet news media outlet Marca, claim Zidane held a long discussion with Ramos at the end of the season in an attempt to persuade the defender to remain at the club.

Zidane "reacted positively" to Ramos' doubts and will make every effort to create an atmosphere that will convince the defender to work with him in his second spell.

It is also reported that Zidane considers Ramos to be vital to the club's success both on and off the pitch.

Ramos joined Los Blancos from Sevilla in 2005 and has made over 600 appearances for the club, winning four Champions Leagues and La Liga, the World Cup and two European Championships with Spain.
