Emery speaks on 'fight' with Neymar, reveals what player told him before leaving PSG

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has stated that he left Paris Saint-Germain, PSG, in good terms with Neymar despite constant rumours of a fall-out between them.

The Brazilian became the most expensive player in the world when he moved from the La Liga champions, Barcelona to PSG in a £198million deal, though Neymar quickly grew frustrated with the Spaniard's unwillingness to pick a side in his battle over penalty duties with teammate, Edinson Cavani.

In an interview after announcing he was leaving PSG for Arsenal, Emery also implied that he was not in charge at PSG as Neymar was 'the leader' of the club.

However, Emery has played down their fractious relationship but admitted that he learnt a lot from managing such a complex star.

When asked what managing Neymar taught him, Emery told Marca, "You have to know when to talk to the man and when to talk to the player.

"On my last day in Paris, the day of my departure, he came to say goodbye and gave me a hug.

"On a human level, it's something I really appreciated."

Neymar spoke glowingly about Emery's impressive work at Arsenal recently, saying, "Everybody knows he's a really great coach. I was really happy to work with him because he's a really hard working guy.

"He really wanted to coach us and really wanted to study about football. I think he will bring good things for Arsenal, which is a really huge and important club in England. I wish him luck."
