Arsenal set to land MLS hot-shot in £15m January deal

Arsenal want highly-rated Paraguay forward Miguel Almiron in the winter transfer window in January.
At the last count, the 24-year-old has netted 12 times for Major League Soccer (MLS) side Atlanta United, who are closing in to claim bragging rights in the Eastern Conference.
According to a UK Mirror report, the Premier League giants will splash out about £15m for Almiron, who is not expected to play again in the regular MLS season after cropping an injury in last weekend's 2-1 win over New England Revolution.

Reacting on Almiron's links to the Gunners ahead of the forthcoming transfer window, Atlanta boss and ex-Barcelona and Argentina manager, Tata Martino says he has no doubt that the forward, will help showcase the enormous quality in the MLS, if the deal sees the light of the day.
"The moment when Miguel Almiron leaves and goes to your country (England) then I think there will be a different view of MLS," Martino was quoted as saying.
On the other hand, while club president Darren Eales has hinted that the forward will leave at the end of the MLS season, Almiron is keen to get started at the Emirates in the coming year.
"My objective has always been to go to Europe," he said, even as he added.

"I like the Premier League and I think they play a beautiful and competitive style of soccer," Almiron submitted.
