Embarrassment swept through Nigeria's political leadership over the scandal in which Abdulrasheed Maina, a fugitive former federal official who was declared wanted somehow regained a top position in the civil service.
This led to an outrage in the media thereby strong-arming President Buhari to order his sack. Controversial online news platform, Sahara Reporters alleged that President Buhari knew about his re-instatement and his top allies facilitated his engagement in the civil service.
