Ronaldo equals Platini's Euros record

Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, is one goal away from becoming the all-time top scorer in the European Championship.
The 31-year-old opened the scoring in their 2-0 win over Wales on Wednesday, with a stunning header in the second half.

The goal moves him to nine goals overall, since he made his tournament debut at Euro 2004 - level with France's Michel Platini, who scored all nine of his goals at Euro 1984.


Ronaldo is also the first player to score in four different European Championships and has played 20 games at the tournament - the most of any player in history.

The Real Madrid forward, is also the first player to appear in three European Championship semi-finals.
