Jorginho leaves Arsenal for new club

Jorginho has left Arsenal as a free agent following the expiration of his contract.

This comes after the Premier League North London club ended Jorginho's contract with immediate effect for the midfielder to become a free agent.

The Gunners disclosed this in a statement via their website on Friday.

"We can confirm that we've reached a mutual agreement with Jorginho to end his contract with immediate effect to become a free agent," Arsenal's statement read in part.

Jorginho had joined Arsenal from Premier League rivals Chelsea in 2023.

The 33-year-old made 78 appearances in all competitions for Mikel Arteta's side.

The Italian has played for the likes of Napoli, Hellas Verona and Chelsea in the past.

He is now set to join Flamengo this summer after he opted to sign a 3-year deal with the Brazilian side.
