Osimhen joined the Turkish giants on loan from Napoli last summer.
Galatasaray vice-president Abdullah Kavukcu has publicly declared the club's readiness to meet the transfer fee demands for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian international, who made a sensational loan move from Napoli to the Turkish giants last summer, has been instrumental in Galatasaray's triumphant season, leading them to secure both the Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
Osimhen's impact has been nothing short of phenomenal since arriving in Istanbul. The prolific forward has netted an impressive 36 goals and provided eight assists in just 40 appearances across all competitions for Galatasaray this season, quickly becoming a fan favourite.
Speaking in an interview with A Sport, Vice-President Kavukcu revealed that the club had already initiated discussions regarding a permanent move for the Nigerian star back in January.
"We talked to my president about Osimhen in January," Kavukcu stated, as quoted by A Spor.
He continued, "We told Osimhen in January, 'We want you very much; don't go anywhere. We are working to get your transfer'."
Kavukcu further emphasised the club's commitment to securing Osimhen's long-term future at Galatasaray, indicating that significant financial planning is underway.
"We are developing projects for this. We developed them to sit at that table, and we are at that table right now. We are ready to get his transfer and pay the salaries he will receive from Europe," he asserted.
This bold declaration from the Galatasaray hierarchy underscores their determination to retain the services of the in-form Nigerian striker, even in the face of potentially hefty transfer fees and substantial wage demands that would likely be competitive with top European clubs.
