Fans Give Cristiano Ronaldo Jr Verdict as His Highlights v England U15s Emerge

Cristiano Ronaldo Jr continued his young international career with Portugal's U15s when he played against England's U15s recently and his performance has left fans with plenty to say on social media. The teenager had the chance to play for a number of different nations, including Spain, but opted to represent Portugal and follow in the footsteps of his legendary father, Cristiano Ronaldo.

He made his debut for the nation when he came off the bench recently in a 4-1 win over Japan's U15s and featured again when they faced off against the Three Lions' youth side. If Ronaldo Jr becomes even half the footballer that his father has been for the last two decades, he'll have an incredible career. After the game against England, a video of the youngster's performance surfaced online and it's sparked a reaction from supporters.

After footage of Ronaldo Jr's performance against England surfaced online, fans were quick to give their opinions on the star and it's safe to say that they didn't hold back when doing so on social media. One supporter took to X (Twitter) and delivered a brutal assessment, posting: "Just concentrate in school and become a doctor...you have no future in football," while another shared that sentiment and said: "He'll never be a professional football player."

Other fans thought he was trying too hard to mimic his father's playing style and it didn't suit his skillset. One stated: "He should avoid mimicking his father, for it will limit his growth and development." Another agreed, saying: "Must he play like his dad?"

Some weren't impressed with his performance as a winger and thought a positional change would actually help his career. One posted: "He'd be better as a central midfielder." They weren't the only one who thought he'd be a solid centre-mid either. One X user said: "His not going to have that explosiveness his father had. But he's sure going to be a very good ball controlling midfielder," while another stated: "He has skill but he's mad slow, maybe he's more suited for CM."

Some fans were a little more positive about the youngster, though, and were keen to stress how he's still just 14 years old and has plenty of time to develop into a quality footballer. One said: "He's not slow - the boy is taller than his peers, and it shows in his way of playing. You can see how he manages to get those shots off. He's on the rise; just give him some time," while another shared that sentiment, posting: "He is still a boy and there are still room for improvement even if he doesn't play like his father he will definitely be a good player you all should reduce the expectations and allow the young man to breath."

No matter what happens, it's fair to say the whole football world will be keeping a close eye on Ronaldo Jr's development over the next few years.
