Argentina coach, Lionel Scaloni has set captain Lionel Messi aside while naming the current best footballer in the world.
Scaloni insisted that the Inter Miami forward remains incomparable but feels the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Lamine Yamal, Julian Alvarez and Lautaro Martinez are the best players in the world.
When asked to name the best players in the world at the moment, Scaloni said on Siro Lopez's YouTube channel (via GOAL):
"I will set Messi aside because he is unique.
"So I will say Kylian Mbappe, Lamine Yamal, and Julian Alvarez or Lautaro Martinez as well."
Messi has won eight Ballon d'Or awards in his career so far.
At age 37, the Argentina captain is at the tail-end of his professional career.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star is the most decorated footballer in the world, having won 46 trophies.
