Former Paris Saint-Germain captain, Thiago Silva, has reacted to the club's victory over Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
He sent a message to the team, wishing them well after the French side sent the Gunners out of the competition on Wednesday night.
The game ended 3-1 on aggregate in favour of the French champions, after picking up a 2-1 victory in front of their fans at the Parc des Princes.
Silva captained Les Parisiens in the 2019-2020 season when they reached the final of the Champions League for the first time in their history.
That night, the final ended 1-0 in favour of Bayern Munich which broke the hearts of the star-studded PSG team.
Following the Ligue1 giants' victory over Mikel Arteta's side last night, the Brazilian football icon recalled a post on X remembering how losing the final felt to them five years ago.
He showed optimism in the team securing a different, more favourable outcome this time around
He wrote,
"Paris Saint-Germain 2020 was a difficult year. But this time everything will end well."
Thiago Silva left the French giants at the end of the 2019-20 season, choosing to pitch his tent with Chelsea.
He was soon joined by manager, Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge, and together, they won the competition in the very next season.
