Russia may push into Poland's territory if it is successful in conquering Ukraine and could continue further into Europe as Polish President Andrzej Duda says he would unleash nuclear warheads if necessary.
Nuclear war could be on the cards as Russia "will not stop at Poland" should the nation conquer Ukraine, military experts claim.
Urgent security talks are set to be held between Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and representatives from Germany and Poland as the conflict rages on. An additional £500million is set to be sent to Volodymyr Zelenskyy's troops from the UK in a bid to keep Vladimir Putin's forces at bay, it was announced today (Tuesday, April 23).
Sunak said: "Defending Ukraine against Russia's brutal ambitions is vital for our security and for all of Europe." A Downing Street spokesperson added new military assistance would be available to President Zelenskyy and would make "a material difference to ordinary Ukrainians fighting on the frontline".
Polish President Andrzej Duda has already suggested he would be willing to launch nuclear arms against Russia asked to by NATO. President Duda said his country was "ready" to push the big red button if other member states also did so, The Sun reports.
"Russia is increasingly militarising Kaliningrad. Recently it has been relocating its nuclear weapons to Belarus," he said. "If our allies decide to deploy nuclear arms on our territory as part of nuclear sharing, to reinforce NATO's eastern flank, we are ready to do so."
But Russia has its own allies in eastern Europe. Putin and Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko are firm friends and the allied countries have always allowed for the storage of Russian WMDs.
Warmonger Putin said last year: "There is nothing unusual here either: firstly, the United States has been doing this for decades. They have long deployed their tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of their allied countries.
"We agreed that we will do the same - without violating our obligations, I emphasise, without violating our international obligations on the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons." It is believed 10 Russian craft capable of carrying nuclear weapons are housed in Belarus.
