Nigerian Correctional Service Promise To Protect Bobrisky From Sexual Assault In Male Prison

According to reporters on April 12, the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS), has pledged to safeguard Idris Okuneye, commonly known as Bobrisky, during his six-month imprisonment sentence in a male facility due to naira abuse charges.

Last Friday, the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Idris Okuneye, a well-known crossdresser and socialite, to six months in jail without the possibility of a fine for naira abuse.

Previously, it was reported that Bobrisky was apprehended by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officers in Lagos State on Wednesday evening, following accusations of defacing naira notes.

Subsequently, the trial judge, Justice Abimbola Awogboro, sentenced Bobrisky to six months in prison without the option of a fine.

An official from the NCS informed the press that Bobrisky would be housed in the male section of the prison facility throughout his six-month incarceration.

He said, "Since he admitted to being a male in court, then we have to abide by what was submitted in court.

"He shouldn't be afraid of sexual assault from other male inmates because our men can give him protection."
