He swam the entire 11.8 kilometers length of the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge to raise awareness about mental health.

Nigerian athlete Akinrodoye Samuel, better known as Coach Dreh, took on a remarkable challenge on Saturday morning March 30th, 2024. He swam the entire 11.8 kilometers across the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge to raise awareness about mental health.

Coach Dreh, CEO of Ocean 28 Swimming Academy, embarked on the impressive feat from Oworonshoki on the mainland to Adeniji Adenle on the Island.

The professional swimmer completed the journey in a commendable time of 2 hours and 33 minutes, with his friends and colleagues cheering him on throughout the way.

Coach Dreh Conquers Third Mainland Bridge in Mental Health Awareness Swim

Coach Dreh affirmed that his 10-year career as a swimmer could help him do anything and become anything.

He added that taking care of mental health is so important that life throws curveballs, but there's support available.

He said, "I am going to be swimming the entire length of the Lagos Third Mainland Bridge to raise awareness and sensitize the public on mental health, suicide, and depression. It is 11.8 kilometres from Mainland, Oworonshoki to Island to Adeniji Adenle. My years of experience in the aquatic realm is over a decade. And swimming for me, I can do anything and become anything I want to do with it."

"Mental health is a course that I am passionate about. Life can be very tough and I think it is okay to ask for help. Your life can stay positive within a twinkle of an eye. Stay alive to witness it," he concluded.
