The FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike has earnestly urged the media to consistently highlight positive aspects of the security agencies' work. He emphasized that while attacks often dominate the headlines, the public is often unaware of the significant accomplishments of these agencies. Using the example of the recently arrested FCT kidnappers, he pointed out that without the police publicly parading them, their arrest would have gone unnoticed. He stressed the need for the media to focus on publicizing the positive contributions and successes of security agencies.

He said in a press conference reported by Channels TV, ''I implore the press to always report positive things about the security agencies. In most cases the only thing that you hear is the attack. You don't know what they have done. If the police did not parade these FCT kidnappers, nobody would know about their arrest. Because their own is not to make noise. Their own is to do their job. So try and publicize the positive aspect of what they are doing, not every time you chunk out negative news.''
