Bayelsa Gov, Diri Reveals Why The State Named Yenogoa Ring Road After The Late Herbert Wigwe

The executive Governor of Bayelsa state, Douye Diri has revealed why the state named the Yenogoa ring road after the late Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe who died alongside his wife and son in the United States of America.

Recall that it was reported that Herbert Wigwe died alongside his wife, Chizoba and their son in a devastating helicopter accident near the border of California and Nevada, in the United States of America.

Many influential Nigerians including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and former Vice President of the federal republic of Nigeria and 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar had earlier mourned the late Herbert Wigwe.

Arise Television reported that Governor Diri said "Herbert Wigwe was instrumental to the completion of the road project and will be immortalised"

Speaking on Wednesday in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state capital during the inauguration of sections two and three of the 22-kilometre Yenagoa Outer Ring Road, Governor Douye Diri said he "would consult with elders and stakeholders in the state with a view to naming the road after the late consummate banker and businessman."

He noted; "With the completion of the first part of this road, it means that we can drive from Elebele to Igbogene and from there to the Ecumenical Centre and then to Tombia."

The recent statement by the executive Governor of Bayelsa state, Douye Diri which was shared by Arise Television on its verified Twitter page has generated a lot of reactions from many Nigerians on the social media platform.
