German news outlet Bild, reports that Mourinho, who was recently dismissed by Roma, is gunning for an opportunity to manage the Bundesliga giants, giving recent performances of their current boss, Thomas Tuchel.
The Portuguese coach is known for his desire to manage in Europe's top leagues and has set his sights on the Bundesliga, disregarding interests from the Saudi Pro League.
Despite Tuchel's presence in Bayern Munich, Mourinho is said to be prepared to step in if the opportunity arises.
