The newspaper said it had seen a letter from Israel's Foreign Ministry to the diplomatic missions, asking them if they had backup generators and satellite phones in case of a communication breakdown.

According to Al Jazeera, The move comes amid growing concerns that Israel's ongoing war on Gaza could trigger a wider confrontation with Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group that is backed by Iran and has a large arsenal of rockets.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Benny Gantz have both warned of the possibility of a broader conflict with Hezbollah in recent weeks, as they face mounting international pressure to end the violence in Gaza.
