Jamie Carragher now predicts who's more likely to win the Premier League - Liverpool or Arsenal

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has now had his say on who is more likely to win the Premier League title this season - Liverpool or Arsenal.

The two sides took part in a hard-fought battle at Anfield yesterday. Both clubs showed real promise, but there wasn't a winner in the end. Even though the game ended 1-1, Carragher says Arsenal impressed him more than Liverpool.

Jamie Carragher favours Arsenal to win the Premier League title over Liverpool

Arsenal came out of the blocks strong against Liverpool yesterday, and they went in front very quickly.

Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring for the visitors through a very well-taken header after just four minutes, and at that point, Arsenal fans were in dreamland.

Liverpool, however, slowly got back into the game, and after a mistake from Oleksandr Zinchenko at the back, Mohamed Salah levelled the score for the Reds.

Arsenal were put under a lot of pressure by Liverpool, who had their chances to score. However, the Gunners held on in the end, and Jamie Carragher says he favours them more than his old side to win the Premier League title now.

He said on The Gary Neville Podcast: "I still think there's there's questions probably for both teams in terms of have they got enough to win the title.

"I think I would favour Arsenal more than Liverpool when I actually look at Arsenal play this season. Obviously, [they're] just slightly above in the table.

"When I look at that sort of strength of the two centre-backs, Declan Rice in midfield, they look really solid. Coming to Anfield today, it was tough at times for them but they didn't really give up too many chances, to be honest.

"It was the same at Aston Villa, they lost the game, quite unfortunate again, didn't give up too many chances. They are the two best teams at home this season, the records tell you that.

"So, even though they've only got one point, I was more impressed with the performances in both those away games really than what they've picked up points-wise."

Arsenal retain top spot in the Premier League table

Despite dropping points at Anfield yesterday, Arsenal will go into Christmas on top of the Premier League table.

The Gunners haven't been at their fluid best this season - just watching some of their attacking patterns tell you that. They seem a lot more hesitant in attack compared to this time last year.

However. their defence is so much better than it previously was, and the addition of Declan Rice in midfield has taken them to a whole new level.

Arsenal would've loved the win at Anfield yesterday after taking the lead, but a point away at Liverpool is not a bad result at all.
