In an interview with Arise TV, Melaye stated that he is indifferent to others' beliefs or actions and emphasized the individual responsibility of every Nigerian to choose between "creative altruism" and "destructive selfishness." While acknowledging Atiku Abubakar, Melaye underscored his autonomy, asserting that he would take action against INEC independently, irrespective of others' opinions or support. His demands encompassed the disbandment of INEC and the resignation of its chairman.

In Melaye's words, "I'm Dino Melaye; I don't think for them; they don't think for me. With due respect, Atiku Abubakar is a father; he's a grandfather. Others may look at it from different perspectives, but I am looking at it that every Nigerian must decide either to walk in the light of creative altruism or we perish in the darkness of destructive selfishness. And I don't want to perish in the darkness of destructive selfishness. Even if I'm the only one, my brother, I'll go to INEC, match and occupy INEC, and sit down in that place."
