Former Super Eagles striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has responded to his epic miss at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Nigeria, alongside host nation South Africa, with four other countries, Algeria, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, and Ghana, represented Africa at the football fiesta in 2010.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria were drawn in the same group as Greece, Argentina, and South Korea and were looking to make it out of the group stage since 1994.

After falling to an avoidable defeat to Greece in the opener, Nigeria also narrowly lost 1-0 to Argentina.

The Super Eagles' last game against South Korea was a must-win to book a place in the round of 16. It was during this match that Yakubu Aiyegbeni missed unbelievably from 5 yards out with an empty net in front of him.

Taiwo Awoniyi's miss compared to Yakubu's sitter

During Nigeria's World Cup qualifier against Lesotho, Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi also missed a sitter, with some Super Eagles fans tagging it a worse miss than that of Yakubu Aiyegbeni.

Pulse Sports crew decided to find out whose miss was worse. All but one member of the team picked Yakubu's 2010 miss.

The viral Instagram video, which now has close to 60,000 views, generated plenty of reactions, and Yakubu himself could not help but react.
