Troops kill three terrorists in Kaduna villages

The Nigerian Army has said its troops have successfully neutralised three terrorists during clearance operations conducted in the vicinity of Maidaro, Ngade, Ahla and Rikau villages in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of the state.

The spokesman of the 1st Division, Nigerian Army, Kaduna, Lt.-Col Musa Yahaya, stated on Monday that the terrorists attempted to flee upon sighting the troops, but two of them were killed, while the others managed to escape with gunshot wounds.

During the operation, the troops recovered an AK47 rifle, and the criminals abandoned a motorcycle.

In another operation, the troops conducted an operation in the Tantatu and Antena areas within Chikun Local Government Area of the state. They successfully neutralized one terrorist and recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, seven 7.62mm (Special) ammunition, and two mobile phones.

The General Officer Commanding 1st Division, Nigerian Army, and Force Commander of "Operation Whirl Punch," Maj-Gen. Valentine Okoro, commended the troops for their efforts and urged them to maintain their high level of performance until all terrorists and criminals within the Division's area of responsibility are completely eradicated.

He also appealed to the people of Kaduna State to continue providing credible and actionable intelligence reports to the army and other security agencies.
