Some People Thought I Bought a Jet, I Didn't; Where Do I Get the Money From? -Pastor Adeboye

Following the controversy surrounding the purchase of the new Gulfstream aircraft, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, stated that some people thought he bought a jet, pointing out that he didn't buy any jets. He revealed that God bought it for him and questioned where he would get the money to purchase a jet.

Some People Thought I Bought a Jet, I Didn't; Where Do I Get the Money From? -Pastor Adeboye

Speaking in a video posted by Divine Encounter, Pastor Adeboye recounts that back in 1975, God made a promise to him, saying that he would buy him three jets. He revealed that when the time came and God provided him with a private jet, some people reacted with criticism.

According to him, "Way back in 1975, at a time when I had never even visited Ikeja, at a time when I had never seen the inside of a plane, God promised me, son, I'm going to buy you three jets. I couldn't understand. What was he talking about? I didn't even know that an individual could have a jet. That's why when the time came and he provided one and some people started crying, I didn't answer a word. People said talk to them, explain. I didn't explain, and I didn't say a thing because if you're crying when I have one, what will you do when I have three? And I'm telling you to tell you this: one day, not too long from now, there'll be an airport belonging to the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and your jet will be packed there. If you believe that, shout hallelujah. How is it going to happen? I don't know. Some people thought I bought a jet, I didn't. Where do I get the money from? I don't buy a jet; God bought it for me."
