Corpers Appeal to FG for Palliatives

Corps members from various parts of the country have raised concerns about their inadequate allowances, which they say do not align with the current economic realities in Nigeria. They argue that the monthly stipend doesn't cover their basic needs, especially in high-cost areas, and makes it difficult to save.

According to reports, one serving corps member in Delta State, known as Saka, shared his financial challenges, highlighting the inability to afford essential food items due to soaring prices. He also called on the Federal Government to include corps members in the ongoing subsidy removal palliative program.

Another corps member in Kwara State expressed concerns about vendors and commercial bike riders taking advantage of them by inflating prices when they are seen wearing their NYSC uniforms. She, too, urged that corps members should be among the first to benefit from palliatives, ensuring they have a more stable financial foundation.
