The Supreme Court Has the Right to Accept or Not to Accept New Evidence - Mike Mbanefo

A Constitutional Lawyer, Mike Mbanefo, has stated that the talk about the submission of new evidence to the Supreme Court in the case between Atiku Abubakar and Bola Tinubu is a deliberate attempt to invite the public against the judges.

Mike Mbanefo made this claim in an interview with Arise Television. Speaking with a journalist on Arise Television, Mike Mbanefo said, "the Supreme Court has the right to accept or not to accept new evidence. There is precedence to accepting or not accepting new facts or new evidence.

Three of such facts are, the evidence sorts to be tendered newly has to be something that initially originated from the lower court. Secondly, it must have basis and reasons why you want to tender such evidence at that later stage. Finally, what do you intend to do with the evidence you sort to tender.

At what point did they discover forgery because same certificates have been tendered even when the president was a governor twenty years ago. Is it possible that the same certificate CSU issued to a degree person will be the same certificate issued to a diploma holder? The answer is no. There are so many documents flying around and media trials going on."
