Cristiano Ronaldo files lawsuit against former team Juventus for unpaid wages

According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo has chosen to sue Juventus for unpaid wages during the Covid-19 crisis.
Juventus players agreed to ignore four months' worth of wages in March 2020 and April 2021 due to the club's financial difficulties.

The deferred wages by the players also came with individual agreements which were made between both parties.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo has asked for his wages to be paid and has taken legal action against Juventus.

Ronaldo's demands

According to reports, Juventus guaranteed the Portuguese forward £17.15 million in net compensation in exchange for his agreement to suspend receiving payment while the country remained in lockdown.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Ronaldo has now made up his mind that he wants to recover the money owed to him and has asked the Turin Public Prosecutor's office for the necessary paperwork.

The 38-year-old currently plays for Al-Nassr, who are currently sixth in the Saudi Pro League, after leaving Juventus in August 2021 for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, Defender Leonardo Bonucci, who is currently at Union Berlin, announced that he will file a lawsuit against the Bianconeri, albeit for an unrelated matter.

The defender said that Massimiliano Allegri's decision to freeze him out of the team and have him practise separately from the senior team, which Bonucci claimed was against his "rights," left him feeling "humiliated."

This adds to the team's mounting problems as Juventus deals with the Prisma investigation into their allegedly deceptive accounting.
