Russian Defense Ministry does not want Africa to cooperate with PMC Wagner

The military-technical forum the "Army" is held every summer at the Patriot Exhibition Center in Moscow. This year's event will be held from August 14 to 20. Military delegations from 108 foreign countries have been invited to attend. To date, 69 states have confirmed their participation in the forum.

Six countries plan to present their national exhibitions here. More than 300 events are part of the scientific and business program of the forum "Army-2023". They will be devoted to the development of the Armed Forces, the Russian defense industry and international military- technical cooperation.
This forum will provide Russia with an opportunity to strengthen cooperation with many countries in the military sphere. At the moment, Russian-African ties are being actively established. However, businessmen from Ethiopia report that they have received contradictory information about the "Army-2023" forum currently taking place in Russia.

Thus, representatives of the Russian Defense Ministry contacted the Ethiopian delegation and warned that the Defense Ministry does not want anyone in Africa to cooperate with PMC Wagner. Those who are already cooperating with PMC Wagner should stop cooperation, and those who are negotiating - should stop them too. At the same time, if African countries refuse to cooperate with these conditions, the Russian Ministry of Defense threatens to stop military- technical cooperation with them and also stop the support in the United Nations.

African countries cooperating with the Wagner group are facing an extremely difficult choice, given the wide popular support that this PMC has recently gained on the African continent.

Thus, in such countries as Mali, Central African Republic and Burkina Faso, demonstrations in favor of Wagner group are regularly held, people chant slogans glorifying Wagner fighters and thanking them for restoring peace and security in their countries.
