Wolves team news & predicted XI vs Manchester United

Wolves are an interesting case study coming into the 2023-24 Premier League season after surviving in 2022-23, but still being billed as a possible relegation candidate on the back of minimal business being done in the market to replace a swath of key outgoings.

No longer can Wolves look to the likes of Adama Traoré, João Moutinho, Diego Costa, Rúben Neves, Nathan Collins, Conor Coady, or Raúl Jiménez after all seven key figures have moved on in one capacity or another, and having only been replaced by just Matheus Cunha, Boubacar Traoré, and Matt Doherty.

Additionally, the last-minute parting of ways with Julen Lopetgui thrust the club into further potential frustration before ultimately replacing him with former Bournemouth boss Gary O'Neil, who was shockingly sacked despite the miracle job he did to keep the Cherries in the top flight of English football. On paper, Wolves have some decent options to turn to, particularly in attack, but if O'Neil cannot come to grips with the task at hand and really balance out the club's brand of football on the pitch, they could be on their way back down to the Championship.

Team News

Gary O'Neil makes an immediate return to the Premier League and is graced with facing off with Manchester United at Old Trafford, but thankfully for the former Bournemouth boss, Wolves have a completely clean bill of health for selection.

A new look Wolves looks primed to be unleashed on Monday, with Matheus Cunha likely to lead the line while being flanked by Daniel Podence and Pedro Neto. The midfield is reduced in quality, however, after key summer departures, and could be a real potential weak spot that needs sorting before the window closes if at all possible.
